Holidays in the Val Casies valley
Val Casies valleyThe beautiful Val Casies valley (Gsieser Tal) lies at 1.257 m above sea level and has preserved its particular origins. Vast green pastures with small villages, hamlets and farms are characteristic for its landscape, accompanied by forests on each hillside. This lovely landscape and popular hiking trails are ideal for excursions for the whole family. The steep tracks at the end of the valley and around the Forca di Casies and the Hochkreuz summit are a unique hiking experience for professional mountaineers. In winter the Val Casies valley is ideal for cross country skiing lovers due to its various runs without great differences in altitude. The little peasant museum Voadohuibn in San Maddalena shows old equipment of farmers and gives an insight into the rural history of the valley. Another thing worth visiting is South Tyrol’s smallest show-cheese-dairy run by family Huber in which you can watch milk being processed to cheese. |
