Holidays in Moso in Val Passiria
Moso in the Val Passiria valleyMoso (Moos) at 1.007 meters above sea level is situated on a sunny hill with ascending coniferous forests and rock faces, only a few kilometres away from the Passo Rombo pass and the Austrian border of the Ötztal valley. The high altar of the Gothic parish church of the famous painting school of the Val Passiria valley is worthwhile visiting. The idyllic mountain village Plan also belongs to Moso, it is a skiing area in the nature park Gruppo del Tessa with a lot of snow. With its chairlift and the three drag lifts, the toboggan/sledging run and a small ice rink it belongs to the smallest ski resorts in South Tyrol and is therefore ideal for families and beginners. Plan is also known because of its nice cross country runs and walking trails for snowshoeing. Stulles is the sunniest village in the whole Val Passiria valley. It lies on a lovely mountain terrace with a magnificent view over the valley. The waterfalls below the village that precipitate about 350 m are of spectacular beauty. Of geological interests are the glacial polishes and the glacial mills in the surroundings of Plata on the opposite side of the valley. The small village Corvara is very tranquil and has a beautiful nature. From here hiking trails go to the picturesque Lake Seeber (Lago di Seeber) and San Martino Monteneve, the highest mine in Europe, where up to 1979 zinc ore and lead ore were mined. |
