Terlano (Terlan) is a beautiful holiday village in the Val d’Adige valley and lies between the province capital Bolzano and the spa city Merano at 248 m above sea level. Terlano is embedded in vineyards and fruit orchards and is a great starting point for easy walks, hikes or bike rides, for example along the river Adige.

In April and May Terlano offers exquisite asparagus dishes and the world famous Terlaner wine is served with them.
The most important sight is the parish church with wall frescos of the famous School of Bolzano. Towards south the mighty tower of the castle Neuhaus is enthroned on a rock, many legends exist  about it.

A small cable car departs from the village Vilpiano (Vilpian) and takes hikers up to Meltina and to the high plateau of the Monzoccolo, the hiking trails have a wonderful view over the surrounding landscape.

The High Emotion Training Zone (HETZ) in Terlano is worth visiting for those who seek an adventure, in a height of 8 m you can balance and climb on ropes, high wires and boardwalks, of course whilst being secured.
